My name is Wendy Hick. I am 73 years old as I write (It’s July 2011). I had a fall in Harrogate and after that found it difficult to walk. My legs were numb from the knees down. My doctor did a variety of tests but could find nothing wrong.
My daughter was getting concerned as I was dragging my legs when I walked outside. My walking distance was getting gradually worse. I started getting severe leg pain at night.
I did see other specialists who said nothing could be done. My doctor then asked me to see Mr Krishna, who organised an MRI scan and immediately confirmed I had a condition called spinal stenosis.
I had a surgery in the form of a decompression and stabilization in December 2010. I was in hospital 3 days. I walked the next day and immediately knew my leg pain had gone. For me surgery was like a miracle. I had given up hope of ever being better.
I am now 6 months after surgery and have little or no pain. I walk as much as I want, do the garden and have no problems at all.
